Witch Hazel Chapter Two part 9/15

Witch Hazel Chapter Two

 part 9/15

Leonardo left for work the next morning with a big smile and a swing in his step. Having a beautiful wife certainly had its perks. Benita saw him off with a kiss and a nuzzle. He inhaled her scent and stroked her cheek, winking teasingly before he turned to head off to his ride. “I love you,” she called after him. “Be safe!”

“Love you too,” he waved. “Don’t you worry about me, beautiful.”

She watched the car drive off and a small knot of worry formed in her stomach. The job he was going into shouldn’t be dangerous in this small town but you never know what psychopaths lurk and it niggled at the back of her mind as she went back inside. Making a bowl of cereal, she told herself he was bigger, faster and stronger than any of them and would be ok.

She was almost relaxed enough to enjoy sitting in her mostly renovated kitchen to eat when the off key singing of her brother in law drifted down the stairs. “TAAAAKE ME AWWWWAAAAAAAAAAY TO PARADISE!” he wailed in broken notes, causing Benita to flinch and wince repeatedly. “SING ME A SONG OF LOOOOOOOOOOOVE!”

What in gods name was he attempting to sing, anyway?

“AND THEN WE WILL FUUUUUUUUCK QUITE VIOLENTLY!!!!!”

“I need a drink,” Benita covered her face in horror.

“WHILE YOU SCREEEEEAAAAAMMMM OOOHHH MY GOOOOOOODDDD!”

She sighed and washed out her bowl. That was more than enough for her. Picking up her purse, she grabbed the keys to take the car into town. She didn’t know where she was going just yet. She just knew she needed to leave the house before Diego got buried in the basement.
